Shows and demonstration

IBC 2010/2012 has been the main show events concerning the Engines project

3 live demos have been shown during the meeting mainly dealing with education of broadcasters on DVB-T2, the usage of DVB-T2 in mobile environment and DVB NGH work on MIMO channel sounding and experimentation. More than 20 broadcasters visited the booth showing the interest and the relative surprise of having DVB-T2 working in mobile environment. This work has been done before T2 lite work has started and it has been a trigger to broadcaster awareness on the standard capabiltiy to handle mobile reception.

Conferences

An active work has been held in Engines to support a lot of different conferences.
Dissemination work of Engines study has been done worldwide with a dominance dissemination in Europe (about 50% of the contribution).
The main area for conference has been done through broadband and telecom conference showing the interest of the industry for the technical work being issued in Engines for EDVB-NGH work .Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting in 2011.
The activity remains strong for dissemination though broadcast conference in IBC. In 2012, the shows and demos activities have been reoriented on T2 lite activities (Barcelona Trials September 2012), results from Engines on advanced DVB-T2 (PAPR demonstrated during Celtic Event). While DVB-NGH specific building blocks were demosntrated in separate products ( Bit Interleaved Coding Modulation being demonstrated during IBC2012 for a professional link application, SC-OFDM was demonstrated during Celtic Event) DVB-T2 lite tests have been validated in Engines partners premises

International papers have really increased during the 2012 period and publication jumping from 5 papers at Mid Term Review to 18 papers at the end of the project. This reflects extensive work on research activities initiated at the beginning of Engines project and providing enough results to trigger international papers.
